Situated
in the green-rich section of Tokyo Midtown, Tokyo's
newest landmark, rising 248 meters in height, the
Suntory Museum of Art combines the traditional and
contemporary elements of Japan based on the concept
of "Japanese Modernism." Designed by Kengo
Kuma, an internationally renowned architect, the
museum exudes a minimalist calm, all rectangular
shapes in wood, glass and Japanese paper, which
give natural warmth with the soft light often found
in traditional Japanese settings and create a soothing
and inviting atmosphere as a "parlor"
of the city. |
