Named
after the famous philosopher Nishida Kitaro, who
used to take a stroll along this route and mediate
on philosophical matters, the Philosopher's Walk
invites you to a pleasant walk alongside a canal,
past numerous temples and old wooden houses. The
path connects the silver-pavilion Ginkaku-ji temple
with the vicinity of the tranquil Nanzen-ji temple.
With cherry trees planted along most of the over
one- kilometer long path, this walk is particularly
magnificent in April when it is dressed in cherry
blossoms. |
