One
of the oldest, most authentic and most delightful
tofu restaurants in Kyoto, Okutan was founded 350
years ago as a vegetarian restaurant serving Buddhist
monks. Situated in a peaceful setting by a pond
and garden, this thatched-roof wooden restaurant
serves nothing but a set meal of healthful tofu.
You can unwind either in a tatami straw mat room
or outdoors on cushioned platforms in a very simple
and rustic setting. |
